SO HEY THERE
I was composing an Elocution piece for my 13 year old sonny Aaryan , the topic being Demonitisation ..
Demonetisation ! Oh ! Demonetsation !
In my tender young heart you cause a crazy flutter and sizzling vibration
Art thou a boon or a bane for the Government's deliberation.
Gone are the days of 500 and 1000 notes
is it really a reason to cheer or an additional burden to a common man's woes.......
Yesterday my father went out to the ATM of our bank
Well , there was a cash crunch you see. to be very frank
my birthday was approaching OOH!! There was so much excitement in the air
A big bash I awaited , with friends , family and all fanfare
Daddy returned all baffled , rattled and shook up at half past two
Well ! you see, he was no. 102 at the banks's doors' long queue
Chocolate cake , decor, music , gifts , oh yes! the return gifts and prizes
Oh! how shall 2000 suffice in obtaining all this , what with inflated prices
With a heavy heart I trudged to my mom and handed over my most coveted possession - my PIGGY BANK
And when it was plundered , looted and broken .. my heart really sank
Out poured Tens fifty , hundreds jingling and jostling with clinking coins of one , two and five
Halleluiah! Eureka ! My frugality and thriftiness has sure paid its price
The party's on! Suddenly , we had a reason to celebrate
But wait ! who's that? do i hear the milkman clanking at the gate
His salary is due , he sure is in a tight spot
What with no ATM Facility , he has to survive , and what not
Kuniamma our house help sure looks teary eyed
As fretting about the "Notebandi" has kept her awake all night
Well Ice creams , chocolates , party , gifts , ..really!!that all can really wait
After all , Being Human is a quality that we must all emulate
The Demonetisation phobia shall surely gradually die down
Leaving some in a frenzy while others with a frown
Let's hope the Government's bold step shall reap what they have sown
